Rypa is made by Caliverse AS (org. no. 938 407 452), Norway, which is responsible for your data. Questions or requests: hello@rypa.app.

Without an account

You can use Rypa without signing in. Your hikes, finds, season goal and settings then stay on your phone and nowhere else.

With an account

Your location

Your location is used on your phone to show you on the map and to record a hike in Go. To get the weather and ground heights, the phone sends a rounded position through our server to MET Norway and to open terrain data; these positions are not logged. Map images come from Mapbox and named tops and huts from OpenStreetMap, which see the area of the map you look at and your IP address, as any website would.

Apple Health and the camera

If you turn it on, Rypa saves your hikes to Apple Health as workouts. It does not read your health data. The camera is used for Look and for your profile photo; pictures stay on your phone unless you choose to share them.

Crashes and usage

Rypa uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports and Firebase Analytics to see which parts of the app are used, so we can fix and improve it. These do not contain your routes.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your data while you have an account. Deleting your account in Settings deletes your account, every hike on our server and your friendships at once.

Children

Friends and sharing open at 13. Under 18, Rypa limits who can see your hikes and who can reach you.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, move or delete your data by writing to hello@rypa.app. You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
